Michelle Zindorf is coming to TEXAS!!

Michelle Zindorf is coming to my house on February 2011 to teach her Brayering technique. She will be teaching 3 beginners classes on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and 2 advanced classes on Saturday and Sunday. Go here for more info on these classes. As of today there are only 8 spaces left in the beginners class and 4 spaces left in the advanced. You can not take the advanced until you have taken the beginners class.

This was the card that I sent to her with my payment.

Stampers Sampler - Point of View

As a fun project, the SASSSC ladies decided to break into two groups and submit cards to Stampers Sampler for their "Point of View" section/article. In Point of View you make differnt cards utilizing one stamp. So half of us chose the Rose from Stampin Up's "Fifth Avenue Floral" set and the other half chose the Chef from Stampin Up's "Viola" set. For unforseen circumstance not everyone was able to participate, but below are the cards that I submitted to Stampers Sampler. Hopefully our submissions will be selected and published in an upcoming issue. I will let you know if we are selected and what issue we are in.

To view the SASSSC blog you can go here.

I chose the Chef from Viola and utilized the brayering techniques that I learned in Michelle Zindorf class in March. Notice the artwork hanging on the wall.

Since there were only 3 Fifth Avenue Rose submissions, I created this one to send in as well.

Yellow Rose of Texas - we have to let them know we are from the Great State of Texas!

Deb chose to do a card with the Fifth Avenue Rose, because she thought her idea of "John the Baptist" was "morbid". Well when she presented the morbid idea, I asked if I could take her idea and give it a shot and not make it appear morbid...lol.

Well this is what I came up...I thought it would make a Great Halloween Card!

Photobucket

Here are the steps for making this card:

All supplies are Stampin' Up.

Stamp the chef with black ink on white cardstock.
Photobucket

Utilizing the Stamp-a-ma-jig I just inked the head and stamped it on the clear sheet.
Photobucket

Photobucket

I lined up the head so that it would sit on the serving platter.
Photobucket

And stamped it. I also masked the head and stamped the grapes around the head.
Photobucket

I cut it out.
Photobucket

I colored it in with with markers. You can color it first then cut it out.
Photobucket

I did not want to just chop his head off...so I made him an executioners mask from black cardstock using the large oval punch and trimming the end.
Photobucket

I brayered Daffodil Delight on white cardstock. Utilizing the brayering technique that I learned from Michelle Zindorf.
Photobucket

Stamped the Haunted House with black ink.
Photobucket

Stamped the house again on sticky paper to create a mask. Cut around the house and moon.
Photobucket

Masked off the house - note: I only masked off the moon and lights in the house.
Photobucket
Brayered Pumpkin Pie Ink over the Daffodil Delight.

Tore the stick paper to represent a hill and sponged Old Olive ink.
Photobucket

Sponged Elegant Eggplant along the bottom and bottom corners.
Photobucket

I brayered Daffodil Delight along the left side of the picture.
Photobucket

I sponged all the edges and corners with black ink.
Photobucket

I attached the Chef man onto my scenery and layered onto to Crushed Concord (New In-Color) and Pumpking Pie cardstock.
Photobucket

I stamped the Happy Halloween in Elegant Eggplant and layered onto Pumpkin Pie with the word window punched out of Old Olive and attached with black brads. This was attached with dimensionals so it sat above the chef.

VIOLA!! Happy Halloween!! Sad to say that this set is being retired in the next few days....But I am keeping mine...I just love him!!

Did I hear - Masters?

My niece Bebe received her Masters in May. She is the first in our family to receive a Masters degree. We are all very proud of her. This was the card that I cased (copied). It is mainly made of punches. I thought it would represent her enthusiasm of getting her Masters!!

Jennifer's Baby Shower

For my step-daughter's (Jennifer) Baby Shower, I was in charge of the Favors. Her party theme was King of the Jungle. So I made these little favors and card to give with her gift.

Used the Big Shot and Stampin up's Pillow Box along with Sizzix template for the lion face. I would be LION if I didn't admit that he was adorable....lol. Sorry for the fuzziness of this pic. I have to get a new camera.

Wicked

A few of the SASSSC ladies pitched in to get Lynn a ticket to go see the musical Wicked. I had so much fun designing this card after Annie assisted with the idea of a good witch or bad witch concept. We presented Lynn this card in our May SASSSC meeting...she was very surprised and touched by our gift and my card of course...lol.

Are you a good witch
